You can learn more about our new shepherdess role this Sunday (6/3) after the service and say hello to our first Shepherdess candidates at church.  Please take a moment to learn a little more about them below.

I didn’t grow up hearing a lot about Jesus, but I met Him at age 16 when someone shared the Gospel with me and how Jesus died to bring us life to the fullest (John 10:10). That has been true so far, and I am excited to be a part of the growth and healing and restoration that God is bringing about at Grace Meridian Hill. In my free time I love reading, finding new music, taking long walks, and watching strange indie and foreign films.

I am originally from Tucson, Arizona and have lived in Washington, DC for 10 years. I am a founding member of Grace Meridian Hill and am so grateful for the ways in which God has used this church community to show his grace and love to me. I have been especially thankful for this loving community as I have been on a journey the last several years of learning to be vulnerable, to let myself be known by myself and others, about the impact a dysfunctional family and childhood has had on me. This has been very hard for me because I love to be seen as having it all together and so admitting and confessing my sin is very difficult for me to do. I've especially really had to work on my anger. But as I have come to become more aware of my sin and imperfection in light of the righteousness of God, I've also had the joy of becoming more aware of how deep the Father's love is for me. I co-own a group home with the Howell's and Bure/Hill's and am so grateful to be able to experience the family of God in that way. I love travel, being outside, reading, and dogs, and am always looking for an excuse to do something related to these!
