Dear Friends,
Jesus declared to us, his disciples, that we will experience trouble in this world (John 16:33). He gave us this assurance as well: “But take heart! I have overcome the world.” It is out of this promise that we have invited Dr. Diane Langberg to come and speak with us, not just on abuse in the church (brokenness), but also about how to heal as the church.

Dr. Langberg will lead us through three sessions at Grace Mosaic on Friday evening, February 15th (7:00pm) and Saturday morning, February 16th (9:00am-12:30pm):

1.Understanding the Power God has Entrusted to Us
2.Understanding the Experience of Abuse
3.The Church as a Healing Place

If you are able at this moment, go ahead and register here. There is a registration fee of $20 and there are a limited number of spots available. Registration opens to other DC area churches next week.

We all have been touched by brokenness in some way. Some of us have indeed been deeply wounded, and we all have a responsibility to one another. Consider a snippet from Dr. Langberg’s journey

“My career as a Christian psychologist began 45 years ago. That’s when I started working with the Christian community…I learned many lessons over the years. I have listened to countless tragedies. Of one thing I am certain: unless we are gripped by the truths of the Cross of Christ in our own hearts and lives, the hope and power of the Cross will not pass from us to others. We cannot give what we do not have.”

Brothers and sisters, this is an opportunity to become equipped to lean into each other’s lives and our own story by the power of the gospel. In this, we will learn together how to sensitively, empathetically, and courageously enter where Christ is bringing hope and healing.

See you there!
